About
A Dream Built One Stone at a Time.
Museum founder Galen Cole first dreamed of preserving historic vehicles when he was just eight years old. Growing up alongside his father, Albert “Allie” Cole, (founder of Coles Express), Galen saw firsthand how transportation connected communities and shaped daily life in Maine.
What began as a childhood fascination grew into a lifelong vision to save the vehicles and stories that defined the state’s working heritage. With the support of his wife and family, that dream became reality. From laying the first cobblestone to opening the museum doors, the Cole family transformed a personal vision into a place for generations to explore.
